Astral Chess Privacy Policy

Where information stays, how advertising works, and the choices you have.

Last updated: October 10, 2026 · App support

Scope & contact

This policy describes the Astral Chess iOS app provided by Hwanish Games, including its local chess game and advertising. For privacy questions or requests, contact myowngroove@gmail.com. This page does not replace a separate Android privacy policy.

Games & settings on your device

Astral Chess does not require an account. Chess rules and AI calculations run on your device. Saved games, progress, diamonds, skins and settings stay on your device and are not uploaded to a developer-operated game server. Completed-game counts and ad-display times are stored locally to limit ad frequency.

Optional Nearby VS uses encrypted local networking to exchange moves, match state and skins with your chosen opponent, using a randomly generated peer name. Optional Game Center uses Apple services and may show your Game Center display name inside the app. These account and peer details are not sent to Firebase Analytics.

Advertising & privacy choices

Ad-supported versions use Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform. Versions with mediation adapters may also receive ads from Unity Ads and Liftoff Monetize (Vungle) through AdMob. Advertising providers may process IP addresses (which can indicate a general location), device or app identifiers, ad impressions and interactions, and diagnostics to deliver and measure ads and prevent fraud. The app does not request precise location permission.

The app requests non-personalized Google ads, disables Google publisher first-party ID and publisher privacy personalization, and supplies Unity's privacy opt-out setting. Versions with Liftoff supply GDPR and CCPA opt-out signals and disable Liftoff IDFV collection before advertising starts. It does not request App Tracking Transparency permission for IDFA. These choices do not stop all advertising data processing. Supported regional consent signals are shared with mediation partners through the consent platform and their adapters.

Use Ad privacy settings to review choices available for your region. See the Google Privacy Policy, Unity Privacy Policy and Liftoff Privacy Policy.

Saved games and individual chess moves are not sent for ad targeting. The game reserves a small banner area. Interstitial ads are limited to eligible breaks between games. Rewarded ads run only when you choose them, and the displayed diamonds are awarded after the completed-ad callback. Chess remains playable offline or when ads are unavailable.

Usage analytics

Versions with Firebase Analytics collect basic game-start, game-end, stage-clear, Undo, Hint, race-result and ad-usage events to improve the game. Firebase may also process an app-instance identifier, device and app information, session activity, and approximate location from the connection. We do not send names, contact details, Game Center identifiers, nearby peer identifiers, chess positions or saved games as analytics events. Firebase IDFA and IDFV collection and advertising-personalization features are disabled.

Analytics waits for the regional privacy check. Where that check requires consent, analytics stays off unless you separately choose Usage analytics → Allow analytics. Elsewhere basic analytics may be enabled after the check. You can choose Usage analytics → Turn off analytics at any time to stop future collection and reset the local analytics identity and pending analytics data. This does not itself delete reports already held by the provider. See Firebase privacy information.

Voice & permissions

The announcer uses on-device speech synthesis for short game-event phrases. The app does not record microphone audio or use speech recognition. It does not request camera, contacts or health-data access. Nearby VS may request local-network access to connect to another player; solo AI play remains available without it.

Retention & deletion

Saved games and preferences remain in the app’s local storage so you can continue playing and keep your settings. Deleting the app in iOS removes its local app data. Offloading the app may preserve data and is not the same as deletion. Operating-system backups and restores follow your device settings. The app does not provide an account-based or iCloud game synchronization feature.

If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you include to help answer the request. Send only necessary details and avoid unrelated sensitive documents. We retain correspondence for as long as needed to handle the request and related follow-up, subject to any applicable legal requirements. Contact myowngroove@gmail.com about access, correction or deletion of support correspondence. We cannot delete or recover local games remotely.

Changes to this policy

If information handling changes, we will update this policy, its date and the relevant store disclosures. We will request new permissions or choices when needed.
